Insomnia represents a major public health issue and is among the most frequent concerns encountered in clinical practice, with symptoms present in about 33–60% of the adult population.
Insomnia has been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, hypertension, type-2 diabetes mellitus, GERD, and asthma.
